On January 17, The Massachusetts Budget and Policy Center and office of state Representative Jason Lewis put together a forum at the state house to discuss Cutting Class, the research report that MASBO commissioned by Mass Budget. Below is a link to a Worcester-based blog, the creator of which got the essence of the report and conveyed it concisely! http://who-cester.blogspot.com/2012/01/massbudget-presentation-on-foundation.html
Based on the public event, MASBO has already received notice of a similar forum to be held in Worcester next month, and at least one other is possible at this time. So it appears that Cutting Class is starting to have the impact we desired - namely, getting people in the state (including the decision-makers) to talk about inadequacies in the education funding formula. Stay tuned!
Please feel free to contact John Crafton or Dave Verdolino if you have any related questions.
